Compounding Accreditation Consultation

Consultation services include the development of customized standard operating procedures that are compliant with compounding accreditation standards. This is usually spread over the course of twelve weeks to allow the pharmacy to come into compliance with a chapter before they move on to the next chapter. Chapters are usually sent at two week intervals with a checklist of what needs to be accomplished. Once this process is complete, a mock survey is scheduled to perform a comprehensive review of compounding processes to identify any areas of weakness and provide staff training. After the accreditation survey, we will assist with any response that might be required. Our involvement does not end with accreditation. We will continue to be available to help work through compliance issues as they arise. A one-time consulting fee (divided into two or more payments) covers a three year relationship that includes one onsite visit (travel expenses are charged separately). The only time an additional fee is charged is if a pharmacy requests additional onsite visits. When it’s time for re-accreditation, half of the original fee is charged for the second three-year cycle (this includes another onsite visit). Our goal is to have a positive impact on patient and staff safety and improve the quality of compounded preparations by forming long-term relationships that enable pharmacies to keep current on changes in compliance requirements and issues related to compounding. No contracts are required.

Development of Standard Operating Procedures

Standard Operating Procedures are customized to meet the unique needs of an individual compounding pharmacy taking into account compliance with applicable state and national requirements as well as accreditation standards.

Onsite Sterile Training

Brenda Jensen is certified as a sterile compounding instructor and provides onsite sterile training so sterile compounding staff may be trained on their own equipment.
